While We Were Young is located in West Village, New York’s best and most authentic neighborhood. For foodies, this area has it all – lazy brunches, indulgent dinners, and late night snacks.
If you are looking for a perfect Instagram NYC moment, While We Were Young is the place to visit. The intimate space is decorated with a marble countertop, pale pink velvet banquettes, baby blue stools, gold accents, the bar is garnished with multi-colored rose petals and bottles holding their house-made cocktail bitters and simple syrups.— this place is a bloggers dream.
The restaurant is designed after the owners love for surfing, the front bar resembles a wave, the back bar features cutout surfboards in walnut, and the dusty pink banquette references the pink sand beaches of the Bahamas.
Not only is it being dubbed the most photographic eatery in New York City, but it’s got a menu comprised of contemporary American cuisine and cocktails, equally impressive and beautiful, feature cheeky names like “Too Good For You” and “The Morning After”.
I have to admit that I didn’t know about this gem in West Village, but fortunately my teenager daughter did and insisted to go here for brunch.
I loved this charming little restaurant the moment we walked in the door – it was almost like stepping in to a cafe in Paris. We had the Kobe Burger with crispy onions, pickles, cheddar, aioli and fries and I had the “While We Were Young” cocktail. This restaurant is not only Instagram friendly – the food is also very good
While We Were Young is small but sweet and showcasing a true eye for details, a visit here is highly recommended, even if it’s just for the Instagram moment.
After the brunch we walked over to Perry Street to see the Carrie Bradshaw apartment from Sex and the City – an Instagram moment too and such a lovely neighborhood.
