Kensington Guide
Kensington is one of my favorite neighbourhood in London – this area has everything from a royal palace, parks, museums, shopping, charming mews and fabulous streets with white mansion houses and luxury cars lined up.
Kensington i London er et av mine favoritt områder i byen. Denne bydelen har masse å by på bl.a. et kongelig palass, flotte parker, museer, shopping, fasjonable gater – et av de dyreste områdene i London hvor luksus biler er line’t opp langs gatene. Du finner også de mest sjarmerende små bakgater og smug.

The Ivy Kensington Brasserie – Located on Kensington High Street, this restaurant offers British classics and comfort food, done very well and served in a charmingly memorable spot.
The Drawing rooms Science Afternoon tea at the Ampersand Hotel in South Kensington – unique theme and very family friendly.
Min Jiang Restaurant – London’s most authentic Chinese restaurant. Situated in the heart of Kensington on the tenth floor of the Royal Garden Hotel with a beautiful view of Kensington Palace and Gardens.
Honest Burger South Kensington – a burger chain with great food and atmosphere, and a fun place for a casual bite. You might have to wait for a table, but it’s worth it.

The Gore Hotel with Victorian eccentricity, represents a piece of British history. Since it opened in 1892 it has been celebrated as one of London’s most enchanting hotels.

The grocery store Whole Foods Market on Kensington High Street. This is the largest Whole Foods shop in London. You can buy handmade chocolates and choose from dozens of regional cheeses in the unique cheese room. All foods are free from artificial preservatives, colours, flavours, sweeteners and hydrogenated fats.

FROLIC
Kensington Palace and Gardens – visit the State Apartments at the palace or just go for a walk in the garden.
Natural History Museum – particularly famous for its exhibition of dinosaur skeletons and ornate architecture.
The mews – the hidden gems in Kensington. Mews have humble origins as the service roads behind the grand houses of the Georgian and Victorian elites. Mews houses were built in the 18th and 19th century, originally intended to stable horses, with accommodation above for servants. Go for a walk in Queens Gate Mews, Canning Place Mews and Kynance Mews which is one of the most beautiful streets in London.
The Churchill Arms pub – known for its exuberant floral displays and described as London’s most colourful pub. If you get thirsty after all the walking…..

Natur Historisk Museum – kjent for sin dinosaur samling og bygget i seg selv er verdt turen.
Bakgater – oppdag Kensington’s skjulte bakgater og smug. De små husene i bakgatene var tidligere stall og huset også tjenere i etasjen over. De tilhørte herskapshusene i gatene foran og har derfor fasjonabel beliggenhet, men det er fort gjort å overse disse små koselige gatene. Ta en tur i Queens Gate Mews, Canning Place Mews og Kynance Mews som ofte blir omtalt som den vakreste gaten i London.
Blir du tørst etter en tur i London’s bakgater, kan du ta en tur på Churchill Arms pub. Bygningen er dekket med blomster og et fantastisk skue fra gata.
